Restaurant Särimner at Birka

Welcome to Viking restaurant Särimner on Lake Mälaren. We use locally produced ingredients as often as we can, and always Swedish homegrown when the possibility presents itself.

Our Särimner Food Philosophy

Tavern masterchef Jens Nykvist and restaurant manager Jennifer Löf use local products as often as they can, and always Swedish produce when possible – even the ale and mead – come from microbreweries located on neighboring islands. Our house beer, Särimner, is a fresh lager from Värmdö Bryggeri.

We have several different mead varieties on hand to sample.

Särimner Restaurant serves Viking-inspired food for the modern palate, served inside in a rustic interior or outdoors in the fresh air.

Our wonderful outdoor setting is at the lakeside, near the dock. From here one can take in the view over Björkfjärden and some truly spectacular sunsets.

Lunch always consists of a meat, fish, and vegan dish. The specific dishes served vary depending from day to day.

During the high season, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from the menu. Children’s meatballs and pancakes are always available on the menu.

BBQ evenings with troubadours

Welcome to atmospheric BBQ evenings with troubadour Andreas Isvoosig on July 6th, 13th, and 27th, as well as August 3rd. More information will be updated here shortly.

Andreas Isvoosig is a traditional troubadour who performs both his own songs and classic songs by artists such as Cornelis Vreeswijk, Evert Taube, Elvis Presley, and many more.

Rent sports equipment

In our restaurant, you can rent water sports equipment such as kayak and canoe. Please contact us for more information.
